Today has been a fun and very experimental for me!
I have just played around with cut out left overs and creating new abstract ideas!
i even got more experimental and created marks and textures over the top to give them a kind of 50s feel but i think they have turned quite 80s, it may be something to do with the colours i used but if i were to screen print them i would use a combination of 1950s palette colours and contemporary trend colours!!
the one above reminds me of african print but again i think its the colours whick does this.
Scribbles, dots, lines, thick, thin, offset, contrast and bright are all elements of 1950s surface pattern design so maybe i have pulled it off!!
